English Australia Conference
The conference for the international English language industry
This conference is for everyone working in or associated with the ELICOS sector of international education: teachers, managers, marketing staff, student services staff, registration staff, teacher trainers, administrators, accommodation providers, government stakeholders, promotional bodies, suppliers etc.
After 20 extremely successful years as a conference concentrating on the professional development needs of teachers of English to international students, the EA Education Conference underwent a major transformation in 2008.
The English Australia Conference now targets the professional and career development needs of all staff working within the ELICOS sector, regardless of the nature of their work within the industry.
The response from the industry to the new focus has been overwhelming, with the 2008 Conference in Canberra and then the 2009 Conference in Melbourne registering record numbers of delegates and evaluations expressing high levels of satisfaction.
The English Australia Conference provides a single forum for staff working in the ELICOS sector to exchange views, to keep themselves updated on domestic and international developments, to develop skills across a broad spectrum of areas, to gain greater awareness and understanding of career pathway opportunities within and related to the sector, and to network with a range of delegates from within and outside the sector.
The conference program maintains a strong TESOL focus for teachers of English to international students, however streams of sessions targeting broader areas of management, marketing, administrative support and student services delivery also feature.
This national ELICOS industry event is of relevance to anyone involved in or providing services related to the delivery of English language programs to international learners. The English Australia Conference provides professional development opportunities for teachers, managers, marketing staff, student services staff, registration staff, teacher trainers, administrators, accommodation providers, government stakeholders, promotional bodies, suppliers etc.
An outline of how suppliers may maximise opportunities to engage with those working in the ELICOS sector, especially staff in English Australia member colleges, is available HERE.
A guide to how you can maximise the benefit of attending the conference, compiled from contributions by staff at English Australia member colleges, is available HERE.
